Spira Manufacturing Corporation provides quality EMI shielding / RFI shielding products, such as the EMI gaskets for connectors. Their EMI shielding connector gaskets provide radio-frequency interference, electromagnetic interference protection, environmental sealing, and electromagnetic compatibility. Spira environmental and EMI shielding products are comparable and exceed performance by wire mesh and fingerstock gaskets.

Connector-Seal Gaskets
The Connector-Seal gasket series is designed to provide an EMI shielding in flange-mounted connectors for the life of a system. These gaskets are extremely durable, and have achieved up to 1,000 insertions in actual use. These EMI gaskets are made by attaching a Spira-Seal O-Ring to an aluminum retaining frame. The retaining frame provides a positive stop and holds the gasket material in place to provide an EMI seal and prevent deformation of the material.

This gasket provides either an EMI and environmental seal or just an EMI seal. The EMI/environmental version provides a one atmosphere pressure seal and has optional grommets available for sealing around the mounting holes.

When choosing a gasket, select an inside diameter that easily clears the connector barrel. The shielding is achieved by making contact between the two joint surfaces, not by touching the barrel.
